Our Programs

Haven Home for Girls is a non-profit organization designed to exceed the expectations and needs of the young pregnant and parenting population.  Haven Home for Girls works to advance youth competencies in the areas of independent living skills, moral reasoning, pro-social skills, parenting skills, and workforce development so that the youth we serve may flourish as responsible and productive members of society.

Haven Home for Girls provides a safe, nurturing, and encouraging environment of support for the youth in its care.  Haven Home for Girls offers services to mothers until their babies reach age five, involves the fathers in every way possible, conducts on-site group workshops, encourages positive social interactions with persons in the community, offers on-site childcare for the babies while their mothers attend work or school, provides job skills preparation, affords the youth the ability to work off-site, serves young mothers who have been separated from their child(ren) by helping them to be reunited with them, and provides on-going reintegration services (reintegration services begin upon intake and follow each youth post-placement for three months).

Haven Home for Girls is licensed through the Department of Human Services’ 3800 regulations to provide residential Maternity Group Home services.  This program may be completed in six months.

    Where does God fit in

Haven Home for Girls recognizes that spirituality has played an important role in the lives of many of our youths prior to their placement. Religion is an important component to exercising personal responsibility. As the licensing of our facility is through the Department of Public Welfare, respectively, we are not permitted to require religious participation of our youth. We are, however, permitted to present options. That being said, youth will never be forced to participate in any religious activities, however, we offer prayer, attendance at church services, reading materials, groups, religious advisers, etc. regularly. Any and all youth who choose to participate are welcome to do so. If a youth has a personal religious adviser, they are encouraged to maintain contact with the youth throughout their programming.
